Illamasqua Names Pablo Rodriguez New Director of Artistry

NEW FACES: The British beauty brand Illamasqua is strengthening its message — and returning to its roots — with the appointment of Pablo Rodriguez as the brand’s director of artistry. The cult makeup brand is known for its edgy aesthetic and for championing inclusivity. In the past, Rodriguez has worked with brands such as Moschino, Vivienne Westwood, Dsquared2 and has provided creative artistry for Dazed & Confused, i-D and Love Magazine. “Building on our professional authority and commitment to innovation, education and contemporary artistry, we couldn’t think of a better partner than Pablo,” said Hanny Pym, general manager of Illamasqua. “His modern imaginative and inclusive vision is nothing short of inspiring.” Rodriguez said joining Illamasqua was a no-brainer. “What I like about Illamasqua is that there is something for everyone, whether it’s an understated natural look or something bold and eccentric,” he said, adding that the brand’s wide range of color, high-quality performance and cruelty-free formulation, tick all of his boxes. Illamasqua was acquired in 2017 by The Hut Group, which also owns Glossybox and Espa, and at the time, the company affirmed that it would keep Illamasqua’s cruelty-free principles in place.
