L’Oréal Q2 Sales Advance 9.8%

PARIS – L’Oréal’s second-quarter sales advanced 9.8 percent, driven by the continuing momentum of its Luxe and Active Cosmetics Divisions, and growth in the Asia-Pacific region. The maker of Lancôme, Garnier and Maybelline products posted sales of 7.26 billion euros in the three months ended June 30. On a like-for-like basis, revenues in the period advanced 6.8 percent. The world’s largest beauty company reported after the Paris bourse closed Tuesday that there was a strong progression in its main growth drivers, including Asia, travel retail, e-commerce and skin care. In the first-half of 2019, L’Oréal sales were up 10.6 percent to 14.81 billion euros. Jean-Paul Agon, L’Oréal chairman and chief executive officer, said in a statement that the company “has delivered its strongest first-half like-for-like growth in more than a decade at plus 7.3 percent, outperforming a dynamic market which has, for the second year running, posted one of its highest-ever growth rates.” All of the group’s divisions notched gains. In the half, sales rose 17.3 percent for L’Oréal Luxe, 15.1 percent for Active Cosmetics, 6.4 percent for Consumer Products and 5.1 percent for Professional Products.
