Grove Collaborative Acquires Sexual Wellness Business Sustain Natural
Grove Collaborative, an e-commerce operation that sells natural home and personal-care products, has acquired Sustain Natural. Sustain Natural makes a line of sexual wellness products targeted at women. The line includes natural condoms, tampons and period underwear. The business received an investment from Combe, the parent company of Vagisil, earlier this year. Sustain was founded in 2015 by Meika Hollender. She will remain chief executive officer of the brand, and will join the leadership team at Grove, where she will focus on the expansion of the broader company’s advocacy and impact programs. Sustain’s operations will move from New York to San Francisco, to Grove’s headquarters. Sustain will own a stable of Grove-owned brands, including incubated lines Seedling, Honu and Grove, and acquired brand Rooted. Grove also sells products from better-known brands, like Mrs. Meyers and Method.
