Groupe Bogart Revs Up Expansion in Germany

PARIS — Groupe Bogart keeps widening its distribution reach in Germany, most recently with an agreement inked to acquire eight fragrance boutiques owned by the Parfümerie Gottmann chain. Groupe Bogart, which creates, manufactures and sells luxury fragrances and cosmetics, did not give a purchase price but in a statement characterized it as “modest.” The company said “the group is energetically pursuing its acquisition strategy focusing on the boutiques business.” Groupe Bogart has been present in Germany since 2016, operating through the HC Parfumeries chain, which counts 87 boutiques. The eight Parfümerie Gottmann doors, situated around Cologne, were opened in 1955. “The new boutiques will give the group access to previously uncharted territory as well as boosting profit margins,” said Groupe Bogart, adding the new stores will increase HC Parfumeries’ sales by about 10 percent. The deal for the stores is due to close this month, and the business should be consolidated in Groupe Bogart starting in March. That will bring the company’s count of owned perfume-sellers in Germany to 95.
