Peachy Keen

JD Glow Peachy Keen Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a light-medium, pinky-peach base–more pink than peach–paired with light gold-to-green shifting shimmer. It had a very strong shift to an almost lime-like green, and the finish itself was a very smooth, reflective metallic.

The texture felt soft, smooth, and not too densely pressed into the pan, which made it easy to work with and to blend out on my lid. It had good color coverage that stayed on nicely for eight hours before fading a bit.

Formula Overview

$7.50/0.095 oz. - $78.95 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be "highly pigmented" with a "built in primer." The texture was creamier, smooth, and more emollient without being too thick or too firmly pressed into the pan, so while it was denser and not at all powdery, I had no trouble picking up product with a dry brush. Using a wet brush or fingertip to apply helped to minimize slight to light fallout that was more typical with dry brush application.

The pigmentation was semi-opaque to opaque with good adhesion to bare skin, and the powders blended out well along the edges. Some of the more sparkly shades had light fallout when blended or the sparkles dispersed a bit more readily, so precision placement was harder. They wore between eight and nine hours on me before fading or lightly creasing.

The one thing to note, though, is that they had a heavy, sweet, fruity scent that I could detect periodically through the day. The empty palette I placed all of the eyeshadows in practically bursts with scent when I open.

Prismatic

JD Glow Prismatic Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.095 oz.) is a vivid, chartreuse green base with warm, yellow undertones paired with bluish-aqua-to-green shifting sparkle and finer pearl. The texture felt more emollient, almost wet to the touch, with light creaminess without being too thick when applied to bare skin.

It had good color coverage, but the base seemed to be a smidgen translucent when applied and blended out. There were visible signs of fading after eight and a half hours of wear with slight fallout over time.

Watermark

JD Glow Watermark Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.0952 oz.) is a deep, navy blue base with cool undertones paired with flecks of gold and blue sparkle over a metallic sheen. It was richly pigmented with a smooth, lightly creamy texture that was a bit denser and thicker compared to most shades in the range.

The product had fairly good adhesion to bare skin but had some fallout during application. I’d recommend patting/pressing into place or else using it with a fingertip or a dampened brush to minimize fallout. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours and had light fallout over time.

Bora Bora

JD Glow Bora Bora Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.0952 oz.) is a bright, light blue with cooler undertones and warmer, green-to-gold shifting shimmer that gave it an intense, metallic finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer paired with a smooth, slightly denser consistency (but not firm).

The eyeshadow picked up well with a dry brush but had light fallout, so I’d recommend pressing and patting into place or using a dampened brush. It stayed on well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Peacock

JD Glow Peacock Galaxy Shadow ($7.50 for 0.0952 oz.) is a bright, medium blue-teal with cool undertones and a slightly warmer, almost greenish sheen at certain angles. It had a cooler, almost violet base that came through on the edges of where the product was applied, so while a duochrome often shifts to a brighter/lighter color than the base, this was deeper.

The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, which adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out without difficulty. The texture was smooth to the touch, lightly creamy, and easy to work with. This shade lasted well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.
