Natasha Denona Bronze Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

Bronze

Natasha Denona Bronze 15-Pan Small Eyeshadow Palette ($65.00 for 0.67 oz.) is a new, seemingly-permanent warm-toned palette that includes five matte shades, one satin shade, and nine more metallic shades. The metallics felt slightly creamier and richer (in texture) compared to recent releases (though not as emollient as the original formula, which is a good thing with respect to longevity!), while the mattes have a more velvety, substantial texture that ensures greater color payoff with minimal fallout but still keeps the formula blendable.

From a quality standpoint, it’s one of the brand’s best palettes. While working with it, I felt like my looks tended to end up looking more similar than not; whenever I work with a larger palette, like this one, I try to showcase at least two different looks to see how versatile the color story is. I think that it is a deeper, darker color story that will be particularly lovely on medium and deeper skin tones. I found it paired well with the brand’s Metropolis palette to extend its color story and give it more contrast.

True Copper (305M)

True Copper (305M) is a medium-dark copper with moderate, warm orange undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The eyeshadow had rich color coverage in one layer, which adhered evenly to bare skin and blended out easily along the edges. The consistency felt smooth, dense, and lightly creamy without being too thick or too firmly-pressed into the pan. It stayed on nicely for nine hours before fading visibly.

Formula Overview

$29.00/0.08 oz. - $362.50 Per Ounce

The majority of the brand's eyeshadows are quite pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The eyeshadows have improved over time, particularly with respect to longevity (without a primer). The original formula often creased on me within seven to eight hours, whereas the more current formula wears eight to nine hours with fading (instead of full-on creasing). The more matte finishes tend to be a bit more velvety, substantial, and less dry/powdery compared to prior iterations.

The metallic finish is often the creamiest, slightly denser in feel, but has excellent pigmentation, adhesion, and blendability. The sparkling shades can have some fallout, depending on how they're applied and how sparkly they are, so they sometimes work better with fingertips or a dampened brush; they can also run sheerer compared to other finishes.

Cream-Powders are the more unique formulation and tend to have firmer, almost stiff, consistencies and more semi-opaque, watercolor-esque coverage. They are longer-wearing, but they can take a few uses to learn how to use. This formula has also improved compared to when it first debuted--it is a bit more yielding now.

Suntan (306CM)

Suntan (306CM) is a medium brown with moderate, warm red undertones and a matte finish. The texture felt smooth, velvety, and had a touch of powderiness in the pan, but it wasn’t a problem during application as it yielded rich coverage in a single layer that wasn’t prone to fallout nor sheering out too easily. This shade wore well for nine hours before showing signs of fading.

Deep Dive (308CP)

Deep Dive (308CP) is a deep burgundy with warm undertones and a satin finish. It was a cream-powder finish, so it had a more emollient quality to it by touch, though it behaved more like a richer, creamier powder formula when applied to the lid. I’d recommend using a slightly denser, more dome-shaped brush (almost like an oversized pencil brush) to deposit color evenly for working in the crease or on the outer lid/v area. It had opaque color coverage that applied evenly and blended out well along the edges. The color stayed on nicely for 10 hours before fading visibly.

Rhodium (309DC)

Rhodium (309DC) is a medium-dark purple with strong, warm undertones and cooler, blue-to-violet shifting pearl. The consistency felt more firmly pressed into the pan with a thinness compared to other metallics in the palette, which felt creamier and richer to the touch. It had nearly opaque color coverage that could be built up to full coverage with a second layer. It wore well for nine hours before fading noticeably.

Magma (310CM)

Magma (310CM) is a deep, reddish-brown with neutral-to-warm undertones and a matte finish. The eyeshadow yielded rich pigmentation that applied well to bare skin as the color went on evenly, wasn’t prone to sheering out too readily, and blended out with ease along the edge. The texture felt velvety, smooth, and was just a smidgen powdery in the pan but didn’t seem prone to fallout. This shade lasted nicely for nine hours before fading slightly.

High Degree (311M)

High Degree (311M) is a deep, reddish-copper with subtle, warm undertones and flecks of pink and gold pearl over a metallic sheen. It had a smoother, more reflective sheen compared to most shades in the palette, which were more sparkling and intensely metallic. It had opaque pigmentation that applied evenly to my lid and blended out nicely along the edges. The texture was lightly creamy, dense but not overly firm, and easy to work with. It stayed on well for nine and a half hours before fading a bit.

Palladium (316M)

Palladium (316M) is a bright, medium bronze with warmer, golden undertones and a metallic sheen. It was the “cooler” bronze in the palette, though not genuinely cool-toned! It had rich color coverage that stayed on well for nine hours before fading visibly.

Bliss (317DC)

Bliss (317DC) is a brighter, medium-dark pink-coral base with warmer, greenish-gold shifting shimmer that gave it a metallic finish. It had good pigmentation in a single layer, though I felt like it needed to be built up or applied with a fingertip to achieve opaque coverage in one layer. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and dense without being too firmly-pressed or too thick in consistency. It wore lasted well for nine hours before creasing faintly.

Formula Overview

The majority of the brand's eyeshadows are quite pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing. The eyeshadows have improved over time, particularly with respect to longevity (without a primer). The original formula often creased on me within seven to eight hours, whereas the more current formula wears eight to nine hours with fading (instead of full-on creasing). The more matte finishes tend to be a bit more velvety, substantial, and less dry/powdery compared to prior iterations.

Silk (318M)

Silk (318M) is a bright, light-medium copper with strong,w arm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. The consistency was soft, more loosely-pressed in the pan compared to other metallics in the palette, so it applied best by pressing and patting it into place rather than sweeping (which yielded some fallout). It had opaque pigmentation that wore well for nine hours before fading noticeably.

Beach (319CM)

Beach (319CM) is a medium-dark peach with strong, warm undertones and a matte finish. It applied a couple of shades darker than it appeared in the pan for reference. The texture was smooth, velvety, and lightly powdery with minimal fallout during application. It had opaque color coverage that stayed on nicely for eight and a half hours before fading a bit.
