Kosas Papaya 1972 (High Intensity) Color and Light Pressed Palette ($34.00 for 0.28 oz.) contains a brighter, medium orange blush paired with a peachy-orange highlighter. The two shades complemented each other, and they were both pigmented, blendable, and easy to work with.

Papaya 1972 (High Intensity) (Blush)

Papaya 1972 (High Intensity) (Blush) is a brighter, medium orange with moderate, warm undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had good color payoff in a single layer, which was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer.

The consistency was soft, somewhat drier to the touch, and was moderately powdery, though it proved to be drier only in feel as it applied smoothly, blended out with ease, and looked seamless on my skin. It lasted nicely for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

The formula offers two levels of intensity--a standard level and a "High Intensity" version--that allows the customer to pick the level of pigmentation and depth desired. The standard intensity offers "buildable, blendable" blush and highlighter that is "easy-to-apply," while the "High Intensity" offers "double color payoff."

The texture of the blush seemed drier, more powdery, but I was surprised--and impressed!--by how beautifully the powders applied, blended, and sat on my skin. They went on with almost no effort at all with an even lay down of color that diffused easily along the edges, didn't look flat or dry on, and were fairly true-to-color.

The pigmentation of the standard intensity level was more medium to semi-opaque, buildable coverage, while the pigmentation of the High Intensity versions were nearly opaque to opaque and were a bit darker/deeper in tone overall. The majority of the shades lasted between eight and nine hours on me.

Papaya 1972 (High Intensity) (Highlighter)

Papaya 1972 (High Intensity) (Highlighter) is a light, peachy orange with moderate, warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied well to bare skin with a smooth, even lay down of product that diffused easily along the edges.

The powder was soft, slightly drier to the touch, and had some powderiness to it, but it did not look dry or powdery when applied to my skin. It had a soft sheen that added glow but didn’t look overtly shimmery so it did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture. This shade stayed on well for eight hours before fading a bit.
