Clionadh Ochre Deep Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a a warmer, brown base with metallic shimmer that shifted from brighter gold to dirty gold to green to brighter, cooler green. The brand described the shift as “gold-lime-turquoise,” which was accurate. The shift was strong so it was noticeable without contortion.

The base is warmer and more tinted, though still translucent, and designed to work well on deeper skin tones. The texture was incredibly smooth with some glide but didn’t feel overly thick or too emollient, so the color applied well to bare skin whether I used a dry brush, dampened brush, or a fingertip. It had excellent pigmentation that lasted well for eight and a half hours before showing signs of fading.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to have more "depth" in the "base tone" and specifically designed to work for deeper skin tones in the way that the more transparent Iridescent Multichrome finish does. They are supposed to have a "tanned base."

While other Multichromes may require more specific application or technique, the brand says that this formula can be used "the same way you would" apply any "highlight or shadow."

The consistency has a denser, smoother feel that wasn't too firm, so I had no trouble picking up product with eyeshadow or highlighter brushes (without having to wet the brush). The product applied evenly, had semi-opaque to opaque, buildable coverage, and was blendable. Some of the shades with larger shimmer/sparkle had light fallout during application. They wore between eight and nine hours on me before fading a bit.

Clionadh Verte Deep Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a warmer, brownish base with a metallic finish that shifted from bright, emerald green to muted, navy blue to mid-tone purple. The brand described the shift as “emerald-turquoise-purple-pink,” and the pink was more of a lighter, warmer purple to my eye and there at the most extreme end. In person, I felt like all the shifts, except pink, were easy to see applied.

The warmer, more translucent base is designed to work well on deeper skin tones. It had good color coverage in a single layer but applied with full coverage when used with fingertips or a dampened brush. I was able to build up to full coverage with a dry brush using a second layer of product. The consistency was lightly emollient without being too dense or too thick, and it didn’t seem quite as fragile as other finishes so I could use a moderate hand to pick up product (if desired). It wore well for eight and a half hours before fading noticeably.

Clionadh Azure Deep Iridescent Multichrome Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) has a warmer, grayish base with a metallic finish that shifted from warmer teal to bluish-teal to purple. The brand described the shift as “teal-blue-purple shifter,” which was apt. As the shift’s spectrum was narrower, it was very easy to work with and incorporate as a shade anywhere since teal/blue/purple match well with the same types of colors.

The texture was smooth, lightly creamy, and dense without being overly firm in the pan or too thick. It was easy to work with using a brush as well as fingertips, and sometimes, the more transparent base was apparent, but most of the time, the shift was intense and the coverage appeared opaque.
